One on One Support through the Family Self-Sufficiency Program
Our Family Self-Sufficiency program is for clients with a voucher or subsidized housing through the Vancouver Housing Authority who are looking for personalized help designing a path to employment and self- sufficiency. Service Coordinators act as mentors and coaches working with clients to overcome barriers, set goals and connect with the services and supports they need to succeed.
Traditional Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program
For individuals who are interested in pursuing a career that can lead to eventual self-sufficiency, our Traditional FSS Program is a good option. Participants work with an assigned service coordinator to develop a road map to self-sufficiency with their goals and challenges in mind. In addition, they earn financial rewards via savings account that builds as they meet plan goals and increase income. These rewards can be substantial and are often used as a down payment for a home of their own. They collect the savings upon successful graduation.

Family Self Sufficiency “Light” Program
FSS “Light” is a 2-year program. As with Traditional FSS, participants work one-on-one with a Service Coordinator that connects them to the supports they need to gain and maintain employment. Savings is capped at $2,000 and is collected upon successful graduation.
